Field. Mountain. We want to present you a little-known treasure of the area – a picturesque village that belongs to the municipality of Loul\u00e9. It has streams and fountains. It is close to Serra Barrocal. Come with us to discover\u2026 Alte.
\nWith about 1997 inhabitants (2011), this parish is located in the geographical center of the Algarve, exactly on the border between Barrocal and Serra.
\nAway from the tourist coast, it is considered one of the most typical and preserved villages in the Algarve (and even in Portugal), with its houses painted in the current colors of the region (ocher, almagre, azul\u00e3o, anthracite, and the white background), roof terraces, traditional chimneys and alleys paved in Portuguese pavement.
\nA day in Alte must include its historic center, full of colorful, narrow streets with a Portuguese sidewalk. With white painted houses and engravings.
\nIn the historic center, it is also possible to visit the mother church of Alte whose Manueline style is the most outstanding. By this time, what really came in handy was to go snacking somewhere. Something light and fast so you don’t waste time.
\nAnd isn’t there a restaurant in front of the church? We are going to eat something because in the afternoon we still have some interesting visits to make.
\nAlso benefiting from our location, in the center of Alte, you can still take a little jump to the Museo Pole C\u00e2ndido Guerreiro and Conde de Alte. Here, we have at our disposal cultural equipment that resulted from the conversion of the old sunny building of the Counts of Alte into a Museological Pole. In the exhibition space, there is a collection of the writer C\u00e2ndido Guerreiro and the counts of Alte and ethnographic heritage such as costumes and agricultural implements.
\nAt the end of Alte, we have the final pearl of this visit: the Fontes de Alte.
\nThese are one of the most pleasant places in the region, with their crystal clear waters of the Alte stream, surrounded by an area with trees, of great beauty and peace of mind.

Lejos de la costa tur\u00edstica, es considerado uno de los pueblos m\u00e1s t\u00edpicos y conservados del Algarve (e incluso de Portugal), con sus casas pintadas con los colores actuales de la regi\u00f3n (ocre, almagre, azul\u00e3o, antracita y el blanco fondo), azoteas, chimeneas tradicionales y callejones pavimentados con pavimento portugu\u00e9s. Algo ligero y r\u00e1pido para que no pierda el tiempo. \u00bfY no hay un restaurante frente a la iglesia? Vamos a comer algo porque por la tarde todav\u00eda nos quedan algunas visitas interesantes por hacer.<\/p>\n
Tambi\u00e9n benefici\u00e1ndose de nuestra ubicaci\u00f3n, en el centro de Alte, todav\u00eda puede dar un peque\u00f1o salto al Museo Pole C\u00e2ndido Guerreiro y Conde de Alte. Aqu\u00ed, tenemos a nuestra disposici\u00f3n el material cultural resultante de la conversi\u00f3n del antiguo y soleado edificio de los Condes de Alte en Polo Museol\u00f3gico. En el espacio expositivo, hay una colecci\u00f3n del escritor C\u00e2ndido Guerreiro y los condes de Alte y patrimonio etnogr\u00e1fico como trajes e implementos agr\u00edcolas.<\/p>\n
Al final de Alte, tenemos la perla final de esta visita: las Fontes de Alte. Se trata de uno de los lugares m\u00e1s agradables de la regi\u00f3n, con sus aguas cristalinas del arroyo Alte, rodeado de una zona arbolada, de gran belleza y tranquilidad. En este espacio, las aguas de la ribera forman una piscina de gran belleza, brindando agradables momentos de ocio.<\/p>\n
