AP ADRIANA BEACH & RESORT IN THE “PASSPORT OF DREAMS”
On 8 July, AP Adriana Beach Resort welcomed Mónica, aged 43, a guest with special needs, as part of the “Passaporte dos Sonhos” (Passport of Dreams) initiative, developed by Lar Residencial S. Vicente, which supports young people and adults with intellectual disabilities, and organised by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Albufeira.
The initiative aims to fulfil the individual dreams of the residents, providing meaningful experiences that promote wellbeing, self-esteem and social inclusion.
More than simply offering an overnight stay, this initiative represented another important step in the resort’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and to building a truly inclusive tourism industry.
By offering Mónica a night’s stay, the resort team did far more than provide accommodation. They actively worked to ensure that every moment of her visit – from the warm welcome on arrival to the thoughtful details of her stay – was defined by comfort, full accessibility and, above all, genuine care.
“Seeing Mónica’s smile and knowing that we became part of such an important chapter in her life gives a much deeper meaning to the work of our team. It is the greatest reward we could ever hope for,” said the resort’s Management.
Social responsibility is one of the core values underpinning AP Adriana Beach Resort’s relationship with the local community. In an industry where wellbeing and memorable experiences are at the heart of what is offered, the resort’s Management believes that the right to leisure, enjoyment and happiness should be universal.
Breaking down barriers – whether physical or social – is an ongoing commitment. By creating opportunities for experiences such as Mónica’s, the resort demonstrates that true accessibility goes far beyond ramps or adapted rooms. It lies in the attitude of its team, the empathy shown in every interaction, and the ability to ensure that every guest feels genuinely welcomed, included and valued.
Mónica’s stay at the resort left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. Stories like hers demonstrate that tourism businesses have both the opportunity and the responsibility to be active agents of positive social change.
AP Adriana Beach Resort therefore reaffirms its mission to remain a place where the sunshine and coastline of the Algarve are combined with compassion and solidarity, ensuring that excellence in hospitality always goes hand in hand with inclusion. Because, at the end of the day, a hotel’s true success is measured by the number of dreams it helps to make come true.
