rooftop nomad nominee for Best of 2022 Design Journal

The Rooftop Nomad Restaurant & Bar, at AP Maria Nova Lounge, in Tavira, is one of the nominees for the Best of 2022 Design Journal, the Adex Awards, which reward excellence in Architecture and Design. The awards are given by Designjournalmag.com, an international brand established in California, USA, since 1988. The awards, considered the most influential and prestigious in this branch of the industry, are given every year.

The Nomad Bar, installed on the roof top of one of the AP Group hotels, in Tavira, was designed by NOA, from Olhão. Founded in 2008 by Andreia Caetano and Ricardo Latoeiro, it combines a critical attitude with the originality of its creations, carried out with the help of a multidisciplinary team.

The design and decoration of the Nomad reflect the cultural diversity of the peoples who settled in the city throughout history, from Visigoths to Romans and Arabs, and provides, thanks to the hotel’s location on a high point in Tavira and the construction options, a magnificent panoramic view over the Algarve city. The construction took into account sustainability by including local suppliers of construction materials and decorative elements.
