AP VICTORIA SPORTS & BEACH RECEIVES YOUNG ATHLETES AND REFERENCE COACHES
About three dozen “young talents” from Algarve athletics, at the Under-16 and Under-18 levels, gathered on April 25 at the AP Victoria Sports & Beach facilities, in an initiative of the Associação de Atletismo do Algarve.
The young athletes, in the specialties of horizontal jumps and shot and javelin throws, were guided by highly qualified coaches, such as José Uva, coach of the Olympic runner-up, Patrícia Mamona, in jumps, and Luís Herédio, coach of Liliana Cá, 5th classified in the Discus Throw at the Tokyo Olympics, as well as Paulo Castro and Luís Gavina, coaches of the Associação de Atletismo do Algarve.
The objective of these actions, promoted by the Associação de Atletismo do Algarve, is to provide contact between nationally renowned coaches and the coaches of clubs in the Algarve, providing, at the same time, extra motivation to young athletes in the region, who seek to obtain results of excellence in athletics.
The excellent conditions provided by AP Victoria Sports & Beach, highlighted by the participants, contributed significantly to the success of the initiative.
