MARTIM SOUSA TAVARES NEW CONDUCTOR OF THE SOUTH CLASSIC ORCHESTRA
Orquestra Clássica do Sul presented its new conductor, Martim Sousa Tavares, at an event held at Teatro Lethes, which sold out.
Martim Sousa Tavares has a degree in Musical Sciences from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and in Orchestra Conducting from the Italian Conducting Academy.
He founded the Orchestra Maggio in Italy, in the city of Brescia, between 2014 and 2016. After a period in the United States, he returned to Portugal in 2019 and founded, in Idanha-a-Nova, the Orquestra Sem Fronteiras.
He is now considered one of the most promising Portuguese conductors.
