AP DONA ANINHAS RECEBE EntardeCER
A new cultural proposal in the city of Viana do Castelo, EntardeCER, promoted by the Centre for Regional Studies, kicked off on 19 October in the late afternoon at the AP Dona Aninhas Boutique Hotel with a talk about granaries and canasters, an important cultural heritage of the north-west of the Iberian Peninsula that needs to be preserved.
The project is inspired by the conversations in the cafés and salons of yesteryear and is designed to promote the exchange of ideas on a wide variety of subjects in a relaxed atmosphere.
The inaugural talk was moderated by José Carlos Loureiro and was attended by Fernando Cerqueira Barros, an architect and founding member of the Horrea Network – International Association for the Study, Valorisation and Protection of High Barns.
During the talk, it was revealed that work is underway to submit an application for the Declaration of the Raised Barns (Espigueiros/Canastros) as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
The talks will take place on the third Thursday of each month, between October 2023 and May 2024, at AP Dona Aninhas, Boutique Hotel, in Viana do Castelo, and will be moderated by José Carlos Loureiro.
