Events in Porto and Surroundings

Porto is a city rich in culture and, as such, hosts music festivals featuring several renowned and emerging artists.

 

Here, we introduce you to the biggest events that take place in Porto, especially during the summer, along with some of the names that will be present in the upcoming editions of these events.

 

North Music Festival

 

 

The North Music Festival was created in 2018 and will take place in 2026 on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of June at the Maia Sports City.
The event will feature, among others, the artists The Cure, Mogwai, Snow Patrol, The Waterboys, Liniker and Ornatos Violeta.
In previous editions, the festival welcomed artists such as Keane, Alejandro Sanz, The Chemical Brothers, Robbie Williams, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Bastille, Franz Ferdinand, and The Prodigy.

Primavera Sound Porto

 

 

Primavera Sound Porto also began taking place in the “Invicta” city in 2012. We say “also” because the festival originates from Primavera Sound Barcelona, a historic event in the Catalan city.

This event in northern Portugal will welcome, in its next edition, artists such as Gorillaz, The XX, Massive Attack, Idles, Big Thief, Ethel Cain, JADE, and many more.

In previous editions, it featured artists such as Charli XCX, Deftones, Fontaines D.C., The National, Pulp, Lana Del Rey, PJ Harvey, SZA, Justice, Rosalía, Kendrick Lamar, Pet Shop Boys, Gorillaz, Interpol, Tame Impala, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, and J Balvin.

The event takes place at Parque da Cidade from June 11th to 14th, and tickets are already on sale on the official website.

 

Meo Marés Vivas

 

 

The Meo Marés Vivas event does not take place in Porto itself, but rather in Vila Nova de Gaia, more specifically at the former Madalena Campsite. It began in 1999 and is one of the oldest festivals in Portugal.

For its next edition, no artists have been confirmed yet, nor have any dates been announced.

However, for example, in 2025 the event took place between July 18th and 20th.

Previous editions have featured artists such as Scorpions, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Ozuna, Take That, Snow Patrol, The Script, Black Eyed Peas, Da Weasel, and many others.
