AP MARIA NOVA LOUNGE SUPPORTS GRANFONDO TAVIRA 2022

The AP Maria Nova Lounge Hotel received last July 29th the main representatives of the Tavira municipality, the mayor, Ana Paula Martins, as well as the vice-president, Eurico Palma and the president of the Municipal Assembly, José Manuel Guerreiro, and Telmo Santos, Sports Technician of Tavira City Hall, and representatives of sports activities linked to cycling, for the presentation of Granfondo Tavira 2022, which will take place next October, in Tavira.

The event, limited to 1500 participants, has special features, defined as an “open race”, with time, classifications and prizes.

Over a distance of 140 km, the participants will have the opportunity to get to know the magnificent landscape of Tavira, run along a route between the mountains and the sea, and get to know the interior of the region.

The race has a high degree of difficulty, disputed in extreme terrain, with long climbs.

The Granfondo is a mass event, differing from professional cycling races in that the roads are not closed and cyclists of all ages can participate.
The starts are done en masse, but the format allows athletes of all levels to participate.

The cyclists are accompanied by vehicles of the race commissioners, police escort, as well as technical and medical assistance.
Along the route there are refuelling zones.

The city of Tavira, with its long tradition of connection to cycling, enthusiastically welcomes this event with the sponsorship of the AP Maria Nova Lounge Hotel, which thus reaffirms its close connection to Tavira society.
