THE BIGGEST EVENTS IN THE ALGARVE IN 2025

In 2025, the Algarve will host major events, especially festivals that bring both national and international artists worthy of the spotlight.

In this article, we’ll highlight the most exciting events happening in the region.

Med Festival

The Med Festival takes place in the Historic Centre of Loulé on the last weekend of June, with the 2025 edition scheduled for June 26, 27, and 28.

This festival is renowned for its focus on world music, featuring bands and artists from all four corners of the globe who come to perform music that reflects their cultural roots.

In addition to music, Med also offers street performances, literature, crafts, visual arts, cinema, children’s activities, and, of course, a diverse and multicultural gastronomy.

This festival, which celebrates cultural diversity, is very affordable considering everything it offers. A one-day ticket costs just €10, and a three-day pass is available for €30 until June 23. After that, prices go up slightly. So, if you’re planning to attend, it’s a good idea to get your tickets in advance.

Afronation

If you’re a fan of Afrobeats, Dancehall, Reggae, and Hip-Hop, then Afronation is bound to become your festival of choice.

It takes place from July 9 to 11 on Praia da Rocha in Portimão, right in front of the AP Oriental Beach hotel, with a strong focus on celebrating African culture.

Confirmed artists include Burna Boy, Chris Brown, Davido, Tems, and many more.

Ticket prices range from €349 to €599, and you can find more information about the festival in our blog article dedicated to Afronation.

Faro Motorcycle Rally

The Faro Motorcycle Rally is a true celebration of the love for motorbikes. But beyond that, it’s also a full-blown celebration of music.

Held in Faro, at Vale das Almas, from July 17 to 20, the event will feature performances by artists such as Hybrid Theory, The Waterboys, Moonspell, Sara Correia, The Black Mamba, Blasted Mechanism, Bubba Brothers, and many more.

The event is divided between two stages: the main stage and the Oasis stage. The main stage hosts concerts by top national and international bands, while the Oasis stage features DJs, tribute bands, and covers celebrating the greatest rock ‘n’ roll hits.

In addition to the music, the event also includes the Miss Faro and Bike Show contests (the latter focused on custom motorcycles), as well as the impressive farewell parade through the streets of Faro — all of which help make this event legendary year after year.

If you’re thinking of attending and need a place to rest, the AP Eva Senses Hotel is located very close to the Faro Motorcycle Rally grounds.

Mar Me Quer Festival

From August 13 to 15, the Mar Me Quer Festival takes place at the Portimão Riverside area, a festival that proudly showcases national music as its main highlight.

Artists such as Da Weasel, Plutónio, Bispo, and Dillaz are among the confirmed performers for this year’s edition.

The festival attracts everyone from young people to families, with ticket prices ranging from €15 to €60.

F Festival

In Faro, at the beginning of September—specifically on the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th—the Festival F takes place.

This festival is also a strong focus on national music, featuring more than five stages with multiple performances happening simultaneously.

Festival F offers a mix of musical styles, ranging from fado to rock, and from pop to rap.

Artists for this year have not yet been announced; this is expected to happen in June or July.
