TAVIRA/AP MARIA NOVA HIGHLIGHTED HOTEL ON THE RETURN TO PORTUGAL
The cycling team Atum-General/Tavira/AP Maria Nova Hotel won the second place for teams in the Volta a Portugal by bike and placed two cyclists in the top ten: Alejandro Marque, in fifth, and Delio Fernandez, in sixth.
Galician Alejandre Marque, a veteran who has already won a Volta a Portugal, ends his career at the age of 40 and said goodbye to the Portuguese public with a THANK YOU inscribed on his helmet in the last stage of the Volta, a time trial where he showed his race, having taken third place.
The team, led by Vidal Fitas, finished with all seven cyclists, and was one of the great animators of the 83rd Volta a Portugal, thus honoring its sponsors, where the Hotel AP Maria Nova Lounge stands out, once again, associated what is the oldest active Portuguese cycling team.
Over two weeks, the peloton covered 1559.7 kilometers, starting in Lisbon and ending in Vila Nova de Gaia.
The Tavira Cycling Club, chaired by Marcelino Teixeira, is, once again, to be congratulated.
